2.22.22

I just read somewhere that this date won’t come around for another 400 years. I read somewhere else today that we can wait for 11 more years and get together then… (3/3/33).

Both of those thoughts made me smile. The humor in both statements is “tongue-in-cheek” right? Obviously none of us will be alive in 400 years and even 11 years is a long time to wait to hang out again.

But today makes me think of another period of time.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

2 Peter 3:8-9 But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

Dates are important to humanity. Dates help us mark special occasions and remember the importance of life. Dates can also serve to remind us of the brevity of life.

Our Heavenly Father, God Almighty, holds everything in his hands. He holds every person in his hands. He holds every date in his hands. He is over all, has no beginning, has no end, and counts time differently than we do. I am grateful Jesus Christ does not change. I am grateful I follow the One who does not change, who is over and outside of time, and who already knows my future. He knows yours too…whether it be the future 400 years from now or even just 11 years. Are you grateful He knows the future?

Enjoy 2.22.22…it won’t come around again. May this day be dedicated to God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come!
