Clouds

This morning I pondered the artistry of the sky before me and in doing so I saw simple whisps of clouds appearing in the faint light of dawn. Today the sun rose as it always does and at first I thought it would do so without the grandeur or splendor of some of my encounters. I was however, pleasantly surprised. It was then I realized that the thing that defines a fantastic sunrise or sunset is usually the amount of clouds in the sky. In Our modern language, we have given a cloud a negative connotation and yet for the sunrise and sunset, the more clouds, the more magnificent the scene. It can be the same of our lives. The more clouds we have , loss, failure, disappointment, sickness, disease, then the more brilliantly our lives can reflect the beauty of the Son. Maybe you feel life has been unusually harsh or that you are or have suffered more than your fair share. Believe me when I tell you that I understand and at times, I have felt that way too. Sometimes, when I am witnessing the sunrise , I am tempted to go back inside too soon and in doing so I miss the finale. The crescendo. In my own suffering, I have learnt to trust the process and trust the beauty that will come from my "clouds".
